Our mission is to provide Pomona’s K-12 students and community members with equitable access to education, mental health support, job training, and technology, through free tutoring, counseling, digital inclusion, and community centered learning.

FAQs

  • Yes, priority is given to Pomona Unified School District (PUSD) students, but other local students are welcome to apply based on availability.

  • We offer tutoring and mentoring for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

  • Tutors and mentors are trained volunteers and educators from Pomona Learning Loft. All adults working with minors undergo a background check and orientation before serving students.

    • Tutoring focuses on academic learning and homework help.

    • Mentoring focuses on personal growth—confidence, leadership, and life skills. Many students participate in both.

  • Most sessions last 45–60 minutes, typically once a week. Frequency can increase based on student goals and tutor availability.

  • Services are free or low-cost. No student will be turned away for inability to pay.

  • Yes. We can arrange online tutoring or mentoring when transportation or scheduling makes in-person sessions difficult.

  • During after-school hours and weekends. Specific times depend on tutor and student schedules.

  • Inside Sospeso, located at 260 E. 2nd Street, Pomona—a warm, community-centered environment designed for learning and connection.
